We had a bright idea!!

As those of you that follow our blog know, after over 6 years full-timing in a Class A motorhome we have decided to switch to a New Horizon 5th wheel.

All clean

All clean

With that in mind I started thinking about how many times I see people asking on different forum’s “which is better for the full-time lifestyle, a Class A or 5th wheel” and how many times the people answer that question have only owned and actually lived in one or the other and can’t possible give a well-rounded answer.

The reason for this video is because one of the ongoing debates we hear and read about when it comes to fulltime Rving is the question of what RV is better suited for the fulltime life style, a Class A or a 5th wheel.

And in those rare times that people have owned both it seems they had maybe a older motorhome with few or no slides and older technology whether it’s suspension or appliances or just general construction and they switch to a newer 5th wheel with slides and all the new technology and of course it would be night and day when comparing because they are not comparing apples to apples so once again the response can be pretty lop sided.

That’s where I got thinking about how we will be switching from a newer well-appointed Class A to a very high quality 5th wheel and how in time we might be able to share some information that might be helpful to those trying to figure out what might be best for them.

So, I figured we would do a intro video that talks a little about our RV experience’s so far, then do a video about our likes and dislikes about our fulltime experience in a Class A. After we get our 5th wheel we thought we would do another talking about our first impression‘s about the switch and the challenges we might have and then a 4th video that would come after a number of months or maybe even a year talking about our experience in a 5th wheel and some of the differences we find news worthy.

Even though we are not very tech savvy I thought it might actually be fun but Diane on the other hand was harder to convince and after actually doing out intro video I may NEVER get her in front of a camera again LOL!!!

Anyway, here is a link to the video on our You Tube Channel in case you care to have a look.

I have been following you two for several years and I always enjoy your stories. The video was great and thank you for the effort in producing it. I’m looking forward to watching you next video! You two rock! Keep the stories coming!

Enjoy your blog and loved this video!

Barb and I have done several fishing videos over the years but nothing scripted like you did. The ones we did we challenging and sometimes stressful. I cannot imagine what it would be like to do one like yours. Great job!

I’ve seen some of your video’s and they seemed so natural, especially when Barb pulls in fish after fish while YOU man the camera LOL!! Oh there was that one small fish you caught LOL!!
Doing the video did end up feeling very un-natural for us and I’m not sure we will make them a habit. I think it took me 3 weeks to talk Diane into sitting down and doing it LOL!!

  4. Excellent job on the video. Mike and I will be following along as we have been kicking the idea back and forth of getting a 5th wheel instead of our motorhome (simply for the living space). Looking forward to following your experience. Dawn

Al and I have tried our hand in the video dept … too bad for me to share LOL. I love our 5th but I think I’d prefer a MH if we were to put in more miles (I grew up around MH’s). I look forward to hearing all about your thoughts on the subject.

Somehow I bet your video’s are better than you think just knowing how well you do at the blog. We have certainly been around motorhomes more than 5th wheels so our comfort level will be low at first with a 5th wheel I’m sure but I’m hoping that feeling changes quickly.
