I’m afraid that if Mother Nature were a physical being and my mate I would have to kick her ars out on the streets she’s being such a unpredictable bitch this year LOL!!!
Since our update about leaving the Jojoba SKP Park we have made our way to Quartzsite Arizona and as mentioned we decided to spend our first week in Q at a full hookup RV park in town because of the weather Mother Nature has decided to dish out.
Travel day wasn’t bad and because we left Jojoba 1 day early we were able to travel on a dry day. We left the park and took HWY 79 to Temecula (fueled up at the Pachanga Casino) then jumped on I-15 for about 15 miles until we branched off onto 215 and rode it to HWY 74 headed towards Hemet Ca.. Just before getting into downtown Hemet we turned onto Sanderson Ave. that eventually hooked us back onto HWY 79 which we took until we reached I-10 at Beaumont Ca.. Once on I-10 we had a breezy drive to Quartzsite. All in all a pretty uneventful 250 mile travel day.
Once we reached our campground (Quail Run) we quickly got set up and the remainder of the day of course was filled with football,, WAY TO GO KC!!!!
The week was filled mainly with off & on rain and cooler temps than we have been accustomed to in Quartzsite that kept us inside a good part of the week, just as we figured it would but we did venture out for a couple jeep rides around and outside of town, walked through some of the vender tents that are already set up in the area, and we were able to visit with a few old AND NEW friends during a Happy Hour in the desert.
All in all it’s been a pretty tame week and we are happy we chose to hang out at a full hookup site in town but that’s about to change. Friday the weather changed a little and provided a day with some blue skies and temps that brought out the shorts & tee-shirt attire once again!!! So we will spend Saturday in the RV Park, a day that will be focused on football no doubt before lifting our jacks and heading to the desert for some boon-docking.
We have two groups to hook up with during the next two weeks. We will arrive a few days ahead of time so we will camp alone for 2 or 3 days and then a group of 43 rigs are scheduled to gather for a short 5 day event and then we will make a short (few hundred yard) move and join with another group that we camped with last winter and finish out the allowed 2 week stay in this particular part of the desert. It should be a great time and we are looking forward to seeing old friends and making new.
Once this two week stretch is finished we plan to make another move and boon-dock with a few more friends in a different section of the desert for probably 2 more weeks, from there who knows.
