Round 2’s visit in Portland is in the books.

We had a nice stay in Portland this time around but it’s time for us to move on.

Our main purpose for visiting Portland this time was to celebrate Diane’s mom’s 90th Birthday.

Diane’s brother lives in the area and her sister and 2 of her nephews that live in California flew up to spend some time as well so it was a family affair.

All of the out of town visitor’s stayed at mom’s house except for us of course “One of the benefits of having our home with us everywhere we go” so all of the gatherings where there as well. Every morning we would get around and make the trip to mom’s house. Because I’m not one that sits around well most days I would visit for a bit and then head out to either find something to do or head home where I could tinker at will. Then I would head back over to visit for a little while and pick Diane up at the end of the day.

And what did the birthday girl want to do on her 90th?? Well go bowling of course LOL!! So we all went bowling, 4 generations got together and had a great time even though you wouldn’t know it by looking at our scores LOL!!

We had a good time seeing our friends and family during our Oregon visit but this will end our time in Oregon for this around. We arrived in Oregon on April 5th this year and bounced around between 4 campgrounds during that time however the bulk of our stay was between Grants Pass and Portland.

Diane took her sister & nephews to the airport today “Tuesday” for a mid-morning departure and then spent the remainder of the day with her mom. We lift our jacks Wednesday morning and will start moving around once again. It’s bitter sweet as many of you know but I’m sure everyone will be glad to get back to “their” normal life, until next year LOL!!!

Yup, we plan to be back here in Oregon next summer for probably 1 to 2 months, most likely starting in May. In fact we are thinking about just touring our old backyard next summer, Oregon, Washington & Northern Ca… Heck, how many of you can say you have REALLY explored your own backyards to the fullest? We have been to most places but we have not had the luxury to spend a week at a time everywhere like we can now. And when we first started full-timing we just wanted to “get away” from our backyard so we didn’t explore it first. A common story I’m sure. So why not, time will tell. And I think Diane would like to hang around a little closer to her mom next summer as well.

I think we have a great summer loosely planned so LET THE FUN BEGIN!!

And hay!!! We have hit a milestone, we have had over 100,000 views on our blog. Something that when we started it we thought would never happen. Fun stuff.

Anyway, until next time, take care.

Great to see Diane’s mom doing so well at 90. We are seeing that more and more. We have a gentleman who mows the RV park we are at who is 91. There is not an ounce of quit in that generation, for sure! Happy birthday, Jean!

so wait, where are you headed for the rest of THIS summer?

    • Dave & Diane says:

We will touch Washington and Idaho then on to Montana, Wyoming, Utah and ending up in Arizona and maybe southern Ca.. That’s what we are thinking anyway. Of course who knows, we might change our minds and take a turn at the last moment that could change everything.
