Amazon (an attempt to offset the small cost of the blog)

Our blog is written for pleasure and not for profit but it does cost a small fee each year for us to keep it online. We could receive a small commission for purchases made through any of the Amazon links on our site if it works right and even though I’m sure the amount will be very small it will at least “maybe” offset some of the cost involved.

So if you by chance have found this blog to be at all useful (and we hope you have) or at all informational (and we hope you have) if you could keep us in mind for you Amazon purchases we would be grateful.

We really have not figured out how to set up a good link to Amazon so this will be an ongoing development process it seems. (Any tips from other Word-press users would be appreciated)

You will find a new page on our blog that should take you to our link to Amazon and if you make a purchase we should get credit. This just became live today so as of this second it has not been used. So if you by chance try it out if you would please let me know so I can follow up and see if I have set it up correctly. A computer guy I am not.

Thanks for your support

  1. Dave I think you’ll need to find another way to get people to the Amazon link. It took me a few moments to even find the link you were talking about. It has to really jump out at people for them to see it.

I agree Steve. I tried for 2 hours to figure out how to put one of those blocks on the main page that say’s Amazon but had no luck. But that is my ultimate goal. That was part of the in progress statement LOL!!

Your blog is certainly worth a lot to us, ideas of what to visit, how to get there, and when. Thanks for the effort, and we will certainly make an effort to use any Amazon links for our purchases.

I was under the impression WordPress won’t allow affiliate marketing unless it’s self-hosted meaning .org account. That’s why Wheeling It and RV Sue as well as many others had to switch over. I’ll be interested to hear what you discover.

I didn’t have any luck with making things work so I gave up on it. In fact Amazon cancelled it due to lack of use. Oh well, one less thing to think about LOL!! What I should do is switch our blog away from Word press because now that we have used up far more than the free space the yearly cost just keeps getting higher even though it is a small amount.
