It’s been pretty relaxing since we landed here at Foss Lake State Park. We have a great view,, the weather has been good, well maybe a little on the warm side because it was 98 two days,, and the park is far from crowded.
We are still waiting for our jack to show up in Oklahoma City so we extended our stay here until Friday. We tracked the shipment of the jack on UPS and it is due to arrive Friday morning at the shop. So we will head out Friday morning for the little over 2 hour travel day. It is still not known if we will go straight to the repair shop or if we will head to Twin Fountains RV Resort. If the shop says they can do it as soon as the jack arrives we will probably head straight there but if they can’t we will probably go to the RV park and just try to get the jack put on Monday. I made reservations at Twin Fountains today for 3 nights.
WAIT!!! I just got word,,, we have a 1pm appointment at the shop. So with a little luck we will be all fixed up tomorrow and settled in at our new digs before rush hour traffic I hope. Because from the looks and sounds of it Twin Fountains RV Resort is very close to downtown. But that’s ok,,, we want to see a few things like Bricktown area and the river walk, The National Cowboy and Western Heritage museum and of course what ever else we can squeeze into two solid days. We may need to extend and extra day LOL!! It sounds like there is just soooo much to see.
There really isn’t much to do around Foss Lake unless you fish. I guess the lake has Catfish, Bass, Walleye and a few other species. So if you do fish it would be a good spot to come. The only fish I have seen have been caught by people in boats but there are people around the lake fishing from the bank.
We did however drive out to The Washita National Wildlife Refuge to see what we could see. We saw 1 coyote and a bunch of birds,, that’s it. The coyote was way to fast so we didn’t get a picture. But we did enjoy the walking trail,,, even though it was on one of those 98 degree days LOL!!
And we took a drive into Clinton and visited a Route 66 Museum. The entry fee was $5 each and was worth the visit.
That’s really about it,,, long walks around the lake,, some bike rides,,, lots of relaxing and looking out onto the water and,,,, well that’s it. But what more do you need,,, right?
Well that’s it,,, wish us luck tomorrow. I sort of dread it.
