We sure have had great weather here in Casa Grande since we’ve been here and today is supposed to be in the mid 80’s!
With that in mind we figured we would get around and head over to the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument before the heat of the day arrived because the last time we visited ruins there was a fair amount of hiking involved and we had no real idea what to expect this time. As it turns out there wasn’t any hiking involved.
The ruins is only about 25 miles from our campground so the drive was a short and easy one.
Once there we headed into the visitor center. The normal entry fee is $5 per adult but with our OLD FART pass we got in for free.
As soon as we entered we were told that a 15 min. film about the ruins was about to start so we hurried to the theater and grabbed a seat.
After the film we saw that a guided tour was about to start so we made our way to a outdoor seating area and waited for it to begin. The tour took about 1 hour and Diane and I was amazed at how well versed our tour guide was.
Here is a link to the ruins website.
After our visit to the ruins we took a driving tour through Coolidge and then returned home and relaxed the rest of the day. It’s a tough life!!
