Yuma Arizona

Let me try to catch up a little. Tuesday morning we got up around 6am, had breakfast and while Diane walked Jack I got the motor home ready to roll out and head to LaMesa to have the new windows installed. Our appointment was at 8am and it was only a short drive so I wanted to be on our way at 7:30. Once at LaMesa they told us they would have the Rv until early afternoon so we decided it would be a good day for a driving tour around Yuma to familiarize ourselves with the area. We just wandered aimlessly. We found one of the casino’s, old down town, the Pivot Point and the Territorial Prison all places we knew we would go back and check out without Jack. We also drove around the country side a little and checked out the farmland. Lots and lots of farm land!! After our share of driving we found our way to a nature trail in a wetlands area along the Colorado River and walked for a while until we found ourselves sitting on a bench under the Ocean to Ocean Bridge.

About the time we got comfortable we got a call from LaMesa RV saying our rig was ready to be picked up. So we made our way back to the jeep and headed there way. While picking up the Rv I got a call from Shaun at Davis Cabinets saying they were in Yuma and ready to do the computer station install. So I told them we would meet them at our campsite. I knew it was going to be a full day!! I no sooner got backed in and the slides out and they pulled up with our new cabinets. I didn’t have the water and sewer hooked up yet. And Diane wasn’t thrilled because we had been dry camping for the last week and we didn’t get a chance to really clean things up but that’s the way it goes some times. So I drug out the lawn chairs and we made ourselves comfortable while they took care of the install. The cabinets turned out great and the Corian tops match our existing tops perfectly. Now we have a few extra drawers, and place for the laptop to be stowed, a nice slide out shelf for a printer and some real file cabinet drawers. And some extra counter space for us to clutter up LOL!!! The only thing that was wrong is they didn’t have the correct drawer pulls so we made due with some electrical cord for now and they will ship us the right hardware.

It matches our other cabinets and corian tops great. The full extension draws are nice. And it has slide out computer and printer drawers. The top on the tall section lifts off so you can get to all of your wires

They finished the cabinet install around 5pm and we had just started to do some cleaning and our neighbors knocked on our door and asked if we wanted to go down to the club house and have dinner. It was shrimp night. All we had to eat all day was a light breakfast and a stop at the IN N OUT burger joint so we were both ready for a real meal so we said SURE!! But that also meant we still didn’t get everything squared away but like I said,,, that’s the way it goes some times. One thing I have gotten much better at while living this new life style is going with the flow. Diane says I’m almost there,, but not quite there LOL!!! We had a nice dinner and some good conversation before we headed back home. Wed though Sunday all seemed to bunch together LOL!! I can’t even tell you in what order we have done stuff any more LOL!! But every morning starts with a walk and bike ride to get our juices flowing and to tire out Jack. We also made our way back to the old down town area a couple times. Once to have a late lunch at Da Boy’s Italian restaurant and once to just walk around and take in the sights. We went to Martha’s Date Farm (http://www.marthasgardensdatefarm.com/ )and hade a great date shake and bought a sample pack of the world famous Medjool dates. We found a open air market that had some live entertainment and tons of things to look at.

Lucky for us we don’t have much room for anything so we saved some money LOL!! And we have made our way to the billiards room for some pool a couple nights. The weather had been pretty good here, in the 70’s until Saturday when a little rain came in. It stayed around off and on threw Sunday but it wasn’t bad. The lightning storm Sunday night was pretty good however. Monday was supposed to be our day to get up early and do the tourist thing again but when we woke at 6am Diane was convinced it was to windy and cold so without to much investigation we found ourselves cuddled under the covers for a while longer. Se,,, that’s me going with the flow LOL!!! After getting up and around we did our normal breakfast followed by a walk and bike ride. But I think we are going to head to the Yuma Quartermaster Depot this afternoon. But our plans ARE made in jello.
