Time to move on from Pahrump to Bullhead City

Our time at Pahrump Nevada has come to a end. I guess the nicest thing about Pahrump that we saw was the park we stayed at (Lakeside RV Resort and Casino).

We did our share of driving around the area. We spent a small amount of time in a couple casino’s, we visited a local park for a picnic, we went to a local museum and we went to the country club to hit a couple buckets of balls and have lunch. All of those were ok but nothing over the top.

I will say that the country club was very nice and you could buy a 2000 sqft home with 2 car garage and nicely appointed with granite and stainless appliances in a golf course community for under $150,000. Pretty impressive but not our cup of tea.

The museum was actually better than I had expected when we drove up. It had a very detailed area that described the storage of nuclear waste. A bit more than my little noggin could fully comprehend but interesting. They also had one room dedicated to All Things Lincoln. That was Diane’s favorite area.

And outside they had a very extensive display of the various types of cactus along with a few displays of old mining buildings. After seeing the actual mining sites in Death Valley last week these were not as impressive but good none the less.

I don’t think there were really part of the museum but they had some old tractors and combines out back in a field. I probably spent as much time around them as anything else LOL!!

And Tuesday we had a mobile glass service come out to our site to fix a rock chip that we picked up on our second day on the road. It wasn’t a bad one. You could almost cover it with a quarter but to stop it from spreading we had it fixed. It had to be done.

So today we packed up and drove 150 miles from Pahrump Nevada through Las Vegas and on to Bullhead City Arizona. It is right across the Colorado River from Laughlin Nevada. The drive was pretty uneventful, and that’s ok. I’ll say that the new GPS did a great job working us through Las Vegas. And we went through late morning so traffic wasn’t bad yet. But I’d rather stay out of the big cities as much as possible with the motor home.

We will be staying at Silver View RV Resort for 7 nights.

We have a spot on the ridge that has a pretty good view but I’ll say that they use the word RESORT loosely here LOL!! There is a pool and hot tub and a weight room but there are a lot of residents in the park. I would have probably just stayed for the 3 nights we get for half price with our Passport America discount and moved on but we have fabric samples being shipped here from MCD Shades so we need to stay put long enough for them to have a place to be delivered.
We actually picked a fabric a while back but since that time and now when we decided to place a order that fabric has been discontinued,,, of course. So we have to pick again.

While setting up camp I met one of our new neighbors. He is from Oregon. And it appears the person on the other side of us is from Oregon to.

After setting up we all loaded into the jeep and headed for a drive through town to check things out and ended up touring through Laughlin and then home. We have a week to check things out so it’s time to kick back for the evening.
